With the wide array of buckle styles and finish options, as our customers add to their belt collections, they now have the option of sporting varied appearances for different outfits, occasions, and days of the week.
After mastering the art of making our buckles, our creative instincts led us into developing a variety of attractive new finish options in both stainless steel and brass. During this process we have learned that with some of these buckles taking as much as four hours to complete (not including time to customize the webbing to the wearer’s length, process, package and ship an order, etc.), we may discontinue some of the more time-intensive finishes. While we are still making them, you can scroll down to view and order belts with these options. Note: custom buckles are made to order, so it can take a week or so for us to make your buckle, prepare your belt and ship it to you. No two are identical.

As light moves across the face of the buckle, random shards are highlighted, giving the buckle a different appearance from every angle. This finish is popular at shows where attendees can see the interplay of light on the shimmering streaks. Since introducing it, we have further refined this finish, and we even facet the individual bolt heads.
This striking new finish in the warm, golden hues of brass evokes the wild grasses of the African savannah. As the buckle turns, different streaks randomly catch the light.
This intricate, mesmerizing finish calls to mind rippling and foaming ocean surf over a sandy beach. The varied patterns create a scintillating effect as light plays across the surface of the buckle.
The Sea Foam and Namib Sands finishes involve sanding the front and sides to a smooth finish, sanding again after many other procedures (including bending the buckle, chamfering the edges, drilling and tapping threads into the bolt and prong holes, etc.), hammering and polishing the buckle face, and finally, at varying angles sanding facets into the tops of the “waves” produced by the hammering.
This complex, captivating finish evokes etherial aerial views of the shimmering sandscapes of the Namib Desert, where dunes drift into the flat-topped mesas of the Western Kalahari.
We’ve taken our original brass Sea-Dog and Seafarer buckles to a new level with this hyper-hammered finish, in which the front and sides are all hammered. The indents are also broader and deeper, plus we separately hammer facets all over each individual bolt and prong head before installing them. It takes the better part of a day to make just one of these exquisite buckles.
