New: black variation on the Frenzy Buckle!

This is a new release of our Black Ops Frenzy buckle, with the face of the buckle laser-annealed black. Our previous edition of this buckle was made black using a gun metal process. Note that all the photos show the earlier gunmetal version of this belt. Our bespoke belts are made to order and as soon as we make one of these we will post updated photos (to get an idea of what the laser-annealing looks like, take a look at the first four photos of our Black Ops Ferocious belt).

Gunmetal finishes fade and become brighter like our non-darkened Gray Man finish. While we haven’t yet conducted long-term wear tests of this new finish, we expect the annealed black to retain its dark color much longer than gun metal treatments. The black surfacing could scratch (will add character!), and, if desired after lots of wear, can be resurfaced by us for a small fee (or brushed to our popular Gray Man finish, or converted to our Meteor Strike finish).

Creating the effect requires time and patience. We very slowly laser anneal the buckle face for over an hour and also laser the bolts and prongs separately. The laser beam aims straight down so the sides and back of the buckle are not lasered and the sides of the round bolt and prong heads are also not blackened, but the overall effect is a much blacker buckle than with our first edition gunmetal finish. At some angles to a light source dark colors may be evident in the black finish as a result of crystalline structures that the laser annealing creates on the buckle surface.
